PORTLAND, Ore. — An early morning shooting in Portland, Oregon, has left an adult male victim with life-threatening injuries and led to the arrest of a 40-year-old suspect on attempted murder charges. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) confirmed that the suspect, identified as Pryce Lampkin, was apprehended following a brief manhunt early Thursday, March 5, 2026. The violent incident has triggered an ongoing police investigation led by specialized homicide and forensic units.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau’s North Precinct were dispatched to a reported shooting at a motel located in the 11300 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. The location sits within Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood, a busy commercial and transit corridor in the northeast quadrant of the city.
Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered an adult male suffering from serious, life-threatening gunshot wounds. While emergency medical personnel rushed the victim to a local trauma center, patrol officers began securing the immediate area and interviewing initial witnesses.
According to the official police report, the alleged shooter had already fled the scene on foot by the time law enforcement arrived.
