Anthony Jones And Miranda Wormuth Obituary: Clearfield County, Pennsylvania – Hyde Man Anthony M. Jones and Passenger Miranda S. Wormuth Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Anthony M. Jones Obituary, CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. — Anthony M. Jones, 34, of Hyde, Pennsylvania, has died following injuries sustained in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Brady Township, Clearfield County, on Wednesday afternoon, August 12. His passenger, 30-year-old Miranda S. Wormuth, also of Hyde, was also killed in the collision.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 4:46 p.m. near 332 Carson Hill Road in Brady Township. Investigators said Jones was operating a 2013 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide motorcycle with Wormuth as his passenger when the motorcycle was struck head-on by a 2021 Nissan Rogue.

Police reported that the Nissan Rogue was being driven by Bernadette Ann Cobb, 55, of Brick, New Jersey, when the SUV crossed into the westbound lane of Carson Hill Road and collided with the motorcycle. Jones and Wormuth suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Authorities said Jones and Wormuth were both from Hyde and their deaths have left a lasting impact on those who knew them. Details about their personal lives, careers, family members, and community involvement have not been released.

According to investigators and court documents, Cobb told authorities that she became distracted shortly before the crash after a bug entered her SUV. Police allege that she attempted to swat the insect away before the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel.

Cobb was later arrested by Pennsylvania State Police in DuBois and faces multiple charges connected to the deaths of Jones and Wormuth, including homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and traffic-related offenses. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Cobb’s passenger, 47-year-old David M. Guerra of Linden, New Jersey, was not injured in the crash. Police said both occupants of the SUV were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

The fatal Clearfield County crash remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the collision. Anthony M. Jones and Miranda S. Wormuth will be remembered by those whose lives they touched, and condolences go to their loved ones during this difficult time.
