Ronald Wayne King Obituary, INEZ, Ky. — Ronald Wayne King, 74, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1952, in Winchester, Kentucky, to the late Edgar and Nina (Engle) King.
Known to his family and loved ones as Ronnie, King spent much of his career driving trucks and took great pride in owning and operating his own trucking business, DeRon Trucking. His years behind the wheel reflected a strong work ethic and dedication to his profession, while his family remained an important part of his life.
King is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Deniese (Slone) King. He is also survived by his children, Ronnie (Amanda) Burton of Georgetown, Kentucky; Ron (Kelli) King of Tallahassee, Florida; and stepson Chris (Paula) Goss. He also leaves behind grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were deeply loved by him and held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his parents, King was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Lee King, Jimmy Dale King, David Allen King, and Eddie King; his sister, Patty Banks; and his stepson, Kelly Ray Click.
Throughout his life, King was remembered for his hardworking spirit, commitment to his family, and the love he shared with those around him. His family and loved ones will remember the years they spent together and the memories created throughout his life.
Funeral services for King will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, with Terry Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Goble Cemetery on Spring Branch Road in Inez. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, with the funeral service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crum Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez. King will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, while the love and memories he shared with them will remain in their hearts.
