Stephen Henson and Ann Henson Obituary, YEMASSEE, S.C. — Stephen Henson, 61, and Ann Henson, 56, have been identified as the two people who died in an apparent murder-suicide at a residence in Yemassee over the weekend, according to the Hampton County Coroner’s Office.
Yemassee police officers discovered the couple at a home in the area of Mixon Street and Zahler Street on Sunday while responding to the incident. Authorities have not released additional details about how the two died, citing respect for the family.
Officials said the incident appears to have been isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the Yemassee community. The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain under investigation as authorities work to establish what happened at the residence.
The Yemassee Police Department is working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, including SLED crime scene personnel and regional agents, as part of the investigation. Investigators are processing the residence, collecting evidence and examining events that preceded the deaths.
An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the investigation. Authorities said the results are expected to provide additional information regarding the cause and manner of death.
