Daniel Vance Obituary, HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — Daniel Vance, 37, of Sardinia, Ohio, was killed Sunday evening in a four-vehicle crash on State Route 138 in Hamer Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. Sunday on SR-138. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to the preliminary investigation, Vance was driving a 1973 Plymouth Duster southwest on State Route 138 when the vehicle traveled left of the center line. The Plymouth subsequently collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado and a 2004 Dodge Dakota, both driven by 17-year-old juveniles, authorities said.
The crash continued to involve another vehicle when a 2019 Ford Ranger traveling southwest on SR-138 became involved. Troopers said the Ford Ranger struck the Dodge Dakota following the initial collision.
Vance sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the teenage drivers involved in the collision and the adult driver of the Ford Ranger suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Authorities have not released additional information about the conditions of the other individuals involved in the crash. The multiple-vehicle collision resulted in serious injuries and damage to the vehicles involved.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not determined why Vance’s vehicle crossed the center line. Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
